Cross fit has ballooned in popularity and for good reason. Joining a group can help motivate you to keep at it and keeping losing weight. CrossFit is so varied and diverse it should keep you from getting bored, which can be a big obstacle when losing weight.
Walking is one of the best exercises to help you lose weight, because it’s one of the easiest. Just taking a walk around the block can help you burn a lot more calories than you think. Walking is also free, you can walk anywhere, anytime. You don’t need any special shoes or equipment.
Jogging is great cardio! Jogging only for 30 minutes a day can burn up to 300 calories! It’s great for losing weight and for giving you toned legs. Jogging can be done either outdoors or at the gym, you could even jog to work (if you have a shower at work for you to use)
Swimming is great for losing weight. Because swimming uses your whole body you burn calories quickly and gain muscle definition. It’s a little harder to go swimming than say, running. But it’s well worth it. You don’t have to swim as intensely as you can to lose weight either. Simply swimming laps at leisurely pace is enough to make a big difference.
Cycling can help you lose weight, and is super fun. You can even cycle to work to help you maximize your new weight loss regime. If you don’t already own a bike, buying one could be expensive. It’s well worth it though.
You could also mix things up and take up mountain biking if you’re more of an adrenaline junky.
7. Lifting weights
Lifting weights might not seem the best way to lose weight at first, but by putting on more muscle you’ll burn the fat away and look more toned. Start small and work your way up in weight so you don’t hurt yourself.
Sit-ups are best for losing that tummy weight, if you want to lose weight and gain abs this is the best exercise for you. They can even be done at home in front of the TV.
Yoga may not lose you much weight on its own, but it can give you the dexterity and flexibility to make your other workouts even more effective. Yoga can be done at home or at the park, even at the gym with a group.
For something a little different, you can try hot yoga. Its yoga but in a sauna like environment. It can be very intense but has heaps of health benefits.
Dance can be one of the best workouts for you. While you’re leaping around performing your routine, you’ll be burning calories. You don’t have to be a good dancer to lose weight dancing. Though it may not be the choice for you if you’re easily embarrassed.
3. Jumping Rope
Jumping Rope is great for your stamina and losing weight from your tummy and your legs. Jumping rope doesn’t just help you lose weight though, it also improves hand eye coordination. The only thing you need to jump rope is the rope and some shoes. It’s one of the cheapest exercises you can do and also one of the best.
Whatever you do, make sure you don’t do it barefoot. The high impact of jumping can be painful for your heels and whacking your toes with the rope hurts even more.
HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, is just that. A high-intensity training program. The idea is that you give 100% everything you have in short bursts, like a few minutes at a time. After you have done your short burst there is a small recovery period right before you do another burst. It can be very tiring and leaving you feeling sore and drained very quickly.
HIIT training raises your heart rate drastically, it burns weight much faster than other exercises but it’s not for everyone.
Boxing is the number 1 best exercise for losing weight. It’s uses your whole body and is the most intense workout. It’s good for stamina, strength and hand eye coordination. You don’t have to box against people though, shadow boxing or against a punching bag is almost as good.
